About Me

YOUR FURNITURE MAKER
I started my cabinetmaking career in 1977 at the Thomas Beals Furniture Co. in Portland, Maine. I entered the woodworking business because of my love for building and design. Wood being as pliable and as available as it is, made it my choice of medium. My work continued in other fine cabinet shops along the Atlantic Coast region, which strengthened my shop experience and deepened my respect and appreciation of wood in its varieties of color, grain, texture, and density. My experiences include Shaker, Contemporary, Queen Anne, Arts & Crafts, Hepplewhite and traditional Colonial furniture along with built-ins, which focus on the client’s space and taste.

Working with wood in cabinetmaking is a very exciting and creative satisfaction in my life. It’s the process of building, designing and the satisfaction of the completed work that gives the work its reward.

Copper River Salmon, asparagus, and a hot, fresh out of the oven, apple pie al a mode, along with a good English Stout or a fine western Wine; on a finely made cherry dining room table, with a host of good friends – that’s what it is all about! All you need is the table (and maybe a hutch, sideboard, clock, china cabinet, four posted bed, blanket box, and of course a good dog!).

A SMALL SHOP
Small shops have the ability to provide a unique opportunity for the client to have direct contact with the builder throughout the entire building process. As a small shop owner, I will do whatever is needed to produce your fine furniture and built-in cabinets. From the initial design phase through completion of the final product, the work will be completed by the one person who you have dealt with from the beginning. Please contact me today to discuss your fine furniture needs.
